North Cambs County EBF & EWBF at National Outdoor Finals Skegness
North Cambs bring home the silverware at National EBF &
EWBF Outdoor Finals Skegness with two National titles and two loosing finalists.
Ladies County President Linda Stanton expressed how delighted and proud she was at the performance of the ladies in reaching four National finals and coming away with two
winners, Jackie Hearle, Lynne Quibell and Christine Wadlow Ladies 2 bowl rinks and Christine Wadlow Ladies 2 bowl singles.
Loosing finalists were Margaret Hunt Ladies senior 2 bowl singles and Janet Savage and Christine Jackson Ladies senior pairs.

Men's President Chris Wright commented that he was also so
pleased with the ladies performance and that the men must try harder and need to
step up their game next year.
North Cambs have not reached four National finals in
living memory and it's not since 1996 with Alan and Ash Nelson that they have
had two winners in the same year.
The Championships had beautiful sunny weather for the first four days when most of the games were played but Christine Wadlow had to play in rain and wind on the
Saturday morning for her second Championship win supported
by a hardcore of supporters who were present all week.

North Cambs EBF & EWBF County Outdoor Finals ~ St Lawrence BC 19th 20th & 21st July (Click for Programme)
North Cambs held their County Outdoor Finals 19th 20th and 21st July at St Lawrence BC in the presence of County Presidents Linda Stanton and Chris Wright who congratulated the winners and wished them well at Skegness and commiserated with the losers. Thanks were expressed to St Lawrence BC and John Bates for the use of the clubs facilities and the excellent preparation of the green and the umpires J Fox, C Griffin and S Engledow.
Excellent drinks and food were provided by The Coach and Horses public house with tea and coffee by St Lawrence BC ladies.
St Lawrence BC will be well represented at the National EBF & EWBF finals with Christine Wadlow winning five of her six games over the weekend which included three mixed competitions partnered by Robert Allen. It will be a very busy time for Christine at Skegness.

North Cambs competed in National EBF & EWBF Indoor Bowls Finals at Newark last week with Christine Wadlow being the star of the week. Having qualified in five competitions,
four ladies and one mixed she was bowling on the whole five days of the tournament. Her best performance was in the Ladies Senior Singles where she reached the final
against Jeny Humphries Nottinghamshire, who was playing on her home green, and lost a very close and exciting game 21 – 20.
Linda Stanton North Cambs EWBF President commented that it was a privilege to attend her first National duty as President and to see such a high standard of bowls.
North Cambs is a small county with few
indoor bowlers but everyone played their best and with some very close games
which could have gone either way.

North Cambs v Linc's Eversley Trophy ~ North Cambs played Norfolk in their final Eversley Trophy game of 2013 at Boston IBC and lost 75 – 114 shots.

North Cambs have no further indoor fixtures for 2013 and the format for future Eversley games is being changed with the Trophy to be decided in a round-robin competition at Newark IBC in one day as part of the National EBF & EWBF finals. North Cambs next fixtures are in the outdoor season for the Adams and Newton Trophies which start on 25th May.
At 2.00pm on 11th May there will be a get together game, at CMB BC, for all interested in playing county bowls, all male bowlers from affiliated clubs are welcome.
North Cambs v Northants Derbyshire Trophy
North Cambs played Norfolk in their third Derbyshire Trophy game of 2013
with 3 rinks at WIBC and 3 rinks at Acle IBC and struggled against a very good
team at both locations, loosing 110 – 160 shots, 2 – 20 points. The winning rink
at home of J Ivatt, D Bailey, I Lawson were awarded County spoons by President
Chris Wright following an excellent meal at MENDIS.

running against a very good team at both locations, loosing 108 – 205 shots, 2 –
20 points. The winning rink at home of R Croxford, S Engledow and R
Jackson were awarded County spoons by President Chris Wright following an
excellent meal at MENDIS.
